Hacked Website & Account Recovery in Guyana

Firelinkx contains hacked websites, finds how the attacker got in, removes the files and accounts they left behind, and puts your hosting, domain, business email and Google Search Console access back under your business's control. Message us if your site is showing spam, sending visitors elsewhere, flagged by Google, or tied to an account you can no longer sign in to.

What We Do

Recovery work for hacked sites and accounts

Each engagement follows the same order: stop the damage, find the way in, clean up, then hand back control. What happens inside each step depends on what we find.

Containment

First, we stop spam pages, redirects and defacement from reaching your visitors and Google. For a domain on Cloudflare or a similar service, we can set that block up there and leave the server as the attacker left it for the investigation.

Investigation

We go through the sites, databases, users and scheduled tasks on the hosting account and compare what visitors see with what Google receives, to trace how the attacker got in. We check what the first scan reports before acting on it.

Cleanup and rebuild

We rebuild the site from fresh copies of its software and bring the database and uploads across only once they have been checked, so the attacker's files stay behind.

Account recovery

We work through each provider's recovery process for hosting, domain, business email, Cloudflare and Search Console, then move the account into your business's name if a former developer or staff member still holds it.

Search cleanup

We remove Search Console owners you cannot account for, on every version of your address, along with the verification files they used. We also take the attacker's sitemaps out of robots.txt and Search Console's Sitemaps report, and request a review if Google has flagged your site.

Written incident report

A plain-language report on what the attacker could reach, whether customer data may have been exposed, what we changed, and what to watch next. You can share it with your bank or insurer if they ask.

What to Know

What we find in hacked sites

These come from cleanups we have handled, and each one shapes how we work.

The spam is often shown only to Google. On one site, a single file served spam to Google's crawler about 100,000 times in under two weeks while the site looked normal to everyone else.

Attackers add themselves as owners in Google Search Console to feed Google their own sitemaps. Owners are listed per property, so the version of your address you check can look clean while the attacker sits on another.

Infected files can survive scans and copies. We have found them still on a server after the host's scanner had cleaned part of it, and carried into a staging copy of a site.

On a shared hosting plan, one compromised site can reach every other site on the account, including ones nobody has opened in years.

On one hosting account that had expired but still accepted logins, a backdoor had sat unnoticed for about two years, so we check old accounts as well as live ones.

Process

How hacked-site recovery works

1

Tell us what is happening

Describe the symptoms, when they started, and which accounts you can still sign in to. That tells us how urgent it is and where to look first.

2

Confirm ownership

We confirm that you own or manage the site and accounts before we touch them. Where a platform allows it, we work from our own login and remove it when the work is done.

3

Contain

We shut off what the attacker is showing and save a copy of everything the investigation needs before any file changes.

4

Clean and rebuild

Once the way in is found, we remove the attacker's files, accounts and scheduled tasks and rebuild from checked sources. Anything we cannot verify is treated as infected.

5

Hand back

Every account we recover comes back to you with a new password and two-factor authentication turned on where the platform supports it, along with the written report.

FAQs

Questions about a hacked site

My website looks normal. Could it still be hacked?

It could. Some attacks are built to stay out of your sight, and the first sign can be a customer mentioning strange results when they search for your business. Our guide to spam pages that only Google sees lists the checks you can run yourself.

Should I delete the hacked files myself?

Leave them in place until the site has been checked. The infected files, logs and database records are the evidence of how the attacker got in, and deleting the visible spam usually leaves the way in open. If the site is redirecting visitors or showing a malware warning, taking it offline is the safe first step.

Can you recover a hosting, domain or email account I can no longer sign in to?

We help you through the provider's own recovery process, starting with the proof of ownership it asks for, such as invoices or access to the email address the account was opened with. Once you are back in, we secure the account. How long it takes depends on the provider.

Can you get my Facebook or Instagram page back?

Meta decides every recovery on its own platforms, so nobody outside Meta can promise one. We can secure the email address and phone number linked to the page and walk through Meta's official recovery steps with you. If the page comes back, we tighten who has admin access. Be wary of anyone who charges to guarantee a recovery or asks for your password.

Do I have to tell my customers?

That depends on what was reached. The written report says whether customer records or payment details may have been exposed, so you and your advisers can decide who needs to be told and when.

How much does a cleanup cost?

It depends on how far the attacker got. One spam page on one site is a small job, and a hosting account with several infected sites is a much larger one. The fixed-fee first look tells you which you have before you commit to more.

How do I stop it happening again?

Repeat infections usually come back through the door the first one used, such as an outdated plugin or a reused password. We close that door as part of the cleanup and remove software and accounts you no longer use.
